The first fight of the undercard is finished.  Now it's time for Pavlik vs. Lopez.  Pavlik is coming off of a long layoff due to rehabilitation from alcohol abuse.

Pavlk and Lopez are in the ring and their introductions are about to get underway.

Lopez is 21-0 with 16 KOs, while Pavlik is 36-2 with 32 KOs.

Here we go.

Round 1:
They square up in the center.  Lopez circles Kelly.  Lopez lands a big left hook.  They feel each other out without throwing much.  First minute down and Lopez has landed the only punch of the round.  Kelly lands a straight right.  Lopez comes in and clinches.  Pavlk lands another straight right.  Kelly throws a leaping left hook but it's blocked.  Lopez lands a three-punch combo right on the chin of Pavlik.  Pavlik lands a single left hook.  Lopez is moving well.  He lands another right hook.  Rusty start for Pavlik.

Parker: 10-9 Lopez
Tylwalk: 10-9 Lopez

There's no question that every time Manny Pacquiao takes to the ring at this point in his career, sports fan start buzzing. And regardless what you think of his chances against Pac-Man at his current age, "Sugar" Shane Mosley is an accomplished former champion and a recognizable name, so their clash tonight is definitely worth watching.

Thanks to the normal pay-per-view channels and the live internet PPV stream available at TopTank.tv, there are several ways to catch tonight's card. For those of you who have absolutely no way to watch, though, we're coming through with live round by round updates for three of the four televised fights (sorry Mike Alvarado!) in just a few hours, including a title bout between Wilfredo Vazquez and Jorge Arce and the ring return of former middleweight champion Kelly "The Ghost" Pavlik.

Simply click on over to our home page and we'll have new blog posts for the Pacquiao-Mosley main event and those two undercard matches. The broadcast begins at 9 pm Eastern time, so look for our coverage to start around 10 pm or so.

See you then!

I think I speak for plenty of people out there when I say it's about time that boxing broadcasts joined the rest of us in the second decade of the 21st Century.

What I mean by that is that I've been bemoaning the lack of an option to purchase pay-per-view streaming video of big fights on the internet instead of always having to be by a TV. That ends tonight, as Top Rank's deal with Showtime (and an alliance with NeuLion) means you can watch the Manny Pacquiao-Shane Mosley card on your computer if you so desire.

Nick says...

First, some disclosure: My time as a really hardcore boxing fan dates back only a little more than a decade, and because of their successes during that time, Manny Pacquiao and Shane Mosley are my two favorite active boxers.

Pacquiao was probably an inevitable choice since I am part Filipino. I'm not as certain why I first started taking a liking to Mosley, but I know I admired the flashy combination punching he displayed while devastating other lightweights in 1998-99 and the classy way he always seemed to carry himself outside the ring.

As cool as it was to see the Manny Pacquiao experience hit the road and draw upwards of 40,000 fans at Cowboys Stadium last year, there was never any doubt that he'd be back in action in Las Vegas eventually. And no one is happier about that than Las Vegas itself.

With the fight capital of the world hit as hard as any U.S. city during the recent recession, it could use a booster shot. That will come this Saturday, as Bob Arum told the Las Vegas Sun that Pacquiao's fight with Shane Mosley could mean $200 to $300 million in revenue for the Vegas economy. Did I say booster shot? That's more like a needle full of adrenaline.

For an undefeated world title holder, Timothy Bradley sure is having a year to forget. First his bout with Devon Alexander flopped both financially and aesthetically, and now his next big fight is in danger of falling by the wayside.

That's because the man he's supposed to face, fellow 140-pound beltholder Amir Khan, is tired of waiting for him. ESPN's Dan Rafael reported last night that Khan is considering other opponents after a deadline set by Golden Boy Promotions came and went with no contact from Bradley or his promoter, Gary Shaw.

Golden Boy's Richard Schaefer said he needs to get moving to ensure Khan has someone to fight on their desired date of July 23. He offered up a list of four names, all of whom are intriguing possibilities.

Here they are in descending order of my personal level of excitement: no comments

It pains me to write things that are even remotely negative about Evander Holyfield. Among heavyweight champions during my lifetime, the Real Deal is quite possibly my favorite.

I've also said many times that boxers should be allowed to fight as long as they want. That's provided they aren't endangering themselves medically - that is, more than they normally are engaging in a sport where people are hitting them repeatedly in the head.

That being said, it does pain me when boxers, especially one as courageous as Holyfield, seem to be out of touch with reality. And that's exactly what he seems to be when you hear him talk about once again becoming heavyweight champion of the world. no comments

Though there was boxing on TV this weekend, HBO and Showtime are quiet as the sport takes a short breather before the Manny Pacquiao-Shane Mosley card next Saturday. That being the case, it's a perfect time for some...

SHOE SHINING

* Twenty years from now, one of the most interesting boxers to look back on from this time will undoubtedly be Kally Pavlik. As the former middleweight champ readies to return to the ring as a super middleweight on the Pacquiao-Mosley undercard, it will mark the start of the latest chapter in a career that has seen almost equal parts triumph and tragedy. At least Pavlik's alchol rehab went well. Or did it? Two of the most respected boxing writer around saw it differently. I've often thought that Pavlik's public and private personas were more distinctly different than any other current fighter, and it may not be until he hangs up the gloves years from now that we figure out which one held more truths...

No matter who wins it in the end, Showtime's Super Six World Boxing Classic is already destined to go down in boxing history as an excellent idea in theory that proved very, very difficult to pull off in real life.

We've already seen injuries, disqualifications and a little bit of controversy during the round robin stages. So maybe it shouldn't come as a huge surprise that the tournament semifinals, scheduled to get going in just a few weeks, have hit a snag in the eleventh hour.
